Incite: Queer Writers Read
Incite: Queer Writers Read is a curated, bimonthly reading series for Queer writers. Incite’s hope is to create conversation, connection, and greater understanding both within the Queer community and with other communities. Hosted by Vinnie Kinsella and Jennifer Perrine.
The featured readers for March are Eric Tran, Jessie Carver, and RJ Equality Ingram.

Vinnie Kinsella
Vinnie’s love for books began in the second grade, when he worked with his fellow students to write and illustrate a story about the adventures of an ice-cream-loving giraffe. Since then he has worked as a writer, editor, book designer, publisher, workshop presenter, and college instructor. He is the editor of Fashionably Late: Gay, Bi, and Trans Men Who Came Out Later in Life and the author of A Little Bit of Advice for Self-Publishers.
Jennifer Perrine
Pronouns: any/all
Jennifer (JP) Perrine is the author of five award-winning books of poetry: Beautiful Outlaw, Again, The Body Is No Machine, In the Human Zoo, and No Confession, No Mass. Their other recent work appears in Best Small Fictions, A Mouth Holds Many Things: A De-Canon Hybrid Lit Collection, and Cascadia Field Guide: Art, Ecology, and Poetry. A two-time winner of Arts and Culture Diversity and Inclusion Awards from the Asian American Journalists Association, Perrine lives in Portland, Oregon, where they cohost the Incite: Queer Writers Read series, perform stand-up comedy, and work as the equity and racial justice program manager for Metro Parks and Nature.
Jessie Carver
Jessie Carver is a queer writer and editor who lives in Portland, Oregon, but grew up on a farm in the borderlands of New Mexico. Jessie’s short stories and poems have appeared in various literary journals and the anthology Love Is the Drug & Other Dark Poems, and she co-authored the nonfiction book Rethinking Paper & Ink: The Sustainable Publishing Revolution. She won the 2024 Phyllis Grant Zellmer Prize for Fiction. You can find her online at www.jessiecarver.com.
RJ Equality Ingram
RJ Equality Ingram lives next to a cemetery in Portland, Oregon & works as a necromancer for Goodwill Industries of the Columbia Willamette. RJ's debut collection of poetry The Autobiography of Nancy Drew was published by White Stag in 2024 & RJ's second collection of poetry Peacock Lane will be published by White Stag on Summer Solstice 2026. RJ holds a BFA from Bowling Green State University & two MFAs from Saint Mary's College of California. RJ was a regular contributor of the Nerd Rage: The Great Debates! podcast & has had poetry featured on the Portland radio program Talking Earth. RJ is a regular participant of Tupelo Press' 30/30 Project. Recent work can be found in Voicemail Poems, Deep Overstock, The Pointed Circle, Garlic Lit Press & Luna Luna among other publications. Eric Tran
Eric Tran is a queer Vietnamese poet and the author of Mouth, Sugar, and Smoke, winner of the Oregon Book Award and finalist for the Thom Gunn Award, and The Gutter Spread Guide to Prayer. His poetry has been featured in All Things Considered, Poetry Daily, and Verse Daily, and has received recognition from Best of the Net, Prairie Schooner, and New Delta Review, among other publications. He is a psychiatrist in Portland, OR, where he also organizes the PDX Queer Asian Social Meetup.
