A WITS Digital Chapbook Celebration!

To add to the excitement of Portland’s tricky spring, WITS has decided to release four, yes FOUR, brand new digital chapbooks, featuring a colorful array of prose, poetry, and graphic art from almost every Portland Public School. (To read the chapbooks, click the links to the right.)

These chapbooks, The Best Thing That Could Have Happened, A Ship of Poets, The Main Ingredient, and The Things I Live For, are designed to provide further publication opportunities for WITS students. They have helped us publish the work of 63 talented young artists. They also showcase the talent of Grant High School’s photography students, whose black and white photos grace the covers of the four chapbooks.

The digital chapbooks are companions to the 09-10 WITS print anthology, Take My Hand, I Want to Show You Something which is available at independent bookstores Broadway Books, Annie Bloom’s and Powell’s.

Metropolitan Learning Center sent us so many wonderful anthology submissions, most surrounding the same theme, that we put them together into their own chapbook, The Things I Live For.

Unlike Portland’s sunny days, these chapbooks are here to stay. We hope they brighten your days and remind you of the young talent blossoming throughout our community. See our archive for past digital chapbooks.

Congratulations to the published students, and enjoy!
