I Was That Kid

I was that kid
the one who got picked on
I was inside that house
the white carpet stained
the smell of smoke
from the cigarettes they smoked
colored marking on the wall
from little kids with creative minds
with no paper to draw on
I was that kid
sitting at the bottom of the stairs
with tink, tink, tink
coming down my face
I was that kid
sitting on white stained carpet
that covered stairs
colored markings on the wall
hahaha
is what I hear from upstairs
and loud chatter
from parents
the joyful laughter continues
and yet these memories still stay
I was that kid
