Cathedral Coffee had all their windows open on a gorgeous Tuesday afternoon while Roosevelt High School students read their work in front of a supportive audience, which included friends, families, teachers, Principal Williams, and other members of the community. Several students wrote pieces about their experiences before coming to the United States; there were tales of midnight windstorms, crossing hot deserts, dreams of cobras, and of learning to be self-reliant. Roosevelt teachers Amy Ambrosio and Chris Rudolf, who are hosting WITS readers in their classrooms, also shared their work. Everyone received lots of applause, and we want to thank everyone who helped us hold a great WITS reading for Roosevelt!
