Katie Haegele is a writer, editor, and longtime zine maker. She is the author of three books: the memoir White Elephants, the essay collection Slip of the Tongue, and Cats I’ve Known, an illustrated collection of stories about cats. For several years she reviewed books for the Philadelphia Inquirer, and her critical and personal essays have appeared in many other publications, including the Utne Reader, The Believer Logger, Bitch magazine, and The Millions. She lives in Philadelphia, where she works for a linguistics research lab and hosts readings and shows at the East Falls Zine Reading Room. Visit her online at thelalatheory.com.
Our events, classes, and seminars bring the community together to hear, learn, and discuss the most compelling issues and ideas of our day. We hope you will join us in our downtown Literary Arts space, online, and at partnering venues across Portland and Oregon.
