November Write-In

Wed, November 19 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm PST
716 SE Grand Ave Portland, OR 97214

Join us for a special harvest write-in at the Literary Arts Bookstore and Cafe! This month we’re celebrating the Three Sisters, as always with a curated playlist and drink special for our writers.

The Three Sisters refer to corn, beans, and squash, three of the main agricultural crops of North and Central American Indigenous groups. Through the practice of companion planting, these crops create a permaculture; the corn supports the vines of the beans and the beans in turn stabilize the corn; the squash leaves shade the ground, protect moisture, and prevent weeds. While each sister could grow alone, they are stronger together. Learn more from the National Agricultural Library.

What are your three sisters? What is something that you could exist without, but are so much better for having beside you?

About write-ins:
Write-ins are community gatherings where writers come together to share space, write, and make connections. Whether you’re here to hit word count or make a new friend, we’re here to support you!
