Our host is the one and only, Emme Lund. The featured reader for September is 2026 Oregon Book Award winner Ling Ling Huang.
Emme Lund
Emme Lund’s debut novel The Boy with a Bird in His Chest was longlisted for the Center for Fiction’s First Novel Prize and was a finalist for the Oregon Book Award. Her work has appeared in Time, Electric Literature, Romper, The Rumpus, and Autostraddle among other venues. Her sophomore novel Run! Run! Run! will be published by Vintage Originals in Spring 2027. She lives in Portland, where she occasionally teaches creative writing at Literary Arts and Portland State University.
Ling Ling Huang
Ling Ling Huang is a writer and violinist, and the author of Immaculate Conception. She plays with several ensembles, including the Oregon Symphony, Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra, ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, and the Experiential Orchestra, with whom she won a Grammy Award in 2021. Her debut novel, Natural Beauty, was a Good Morning America Buzz Pick, a New York Times Editors’ Choice, and winner of the Lambda Literary Award for Bisexual Fiction.
