Apply for an Oregon Literary Fellowship

Applications are now open for the 2026 Oregon Literary Fellowships. The deadline to apply is August 8, 2025. Full guidelines and application can be found here. There’s no charge to apply.

Oregon Literary Fellowships are intended to help Oregon writers at all stages of their career initiate, develop, or complete literary projects in poetry, fiction, literary nonfiction, drama, and young readers’ literature. Fellowships are also awarded to support Oregon’s independent publishers and small presses that demonstrate a commitment to literary publishing.

Need help with your application? Literary Arts offer two help sessions on Zoom:
Wednesday, June 25, 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday, July 16, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

There’s also an in-person drop in session at 716 SE Grand Wednesday, July 30, 12:30-2:00 p.m.

We’ll be featuring 2025 Oregon Literary Fellowship recipients on our blog this summer. Our features so far include:

Christine Barkley

Brittney Corrigan

Kaylee Young-Eun Jeong

Apply for the Fellowship. I’ve been rejected at least once by almost every publication that ultimately accepted my work, and I was rejected for this very fellowship last year. I am immensely grateful that Literary Arts does not require application fees, which are barriers to entry for so many—take advantage of that accessibility wherever you can find it. – Christine Barkley, 2025 Oregon Literary Fellowship recipient
