The Moth is in Portland! We’re excited to be hosting them all week long. In addition to their sold-out event at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall on Thursday, The Moth is also conducting a week-long workshop at Marshall High School. Here are The Moth producers Maggie Cinio and Sarah Austin Jenness with Marshall Principal Fred Locke before the first workshop began yesterday.
The workshop will culminate with an assembly on Friday morning. OPB’s Dave Miller, of the show The Speakeasy, is covering the the events at Marshall and we look forward to hearing the segment on his show. Stay tuned for more photos and updates!
Do the stories have to be true? I have heard the Moth’s radio show and it’s clear that some of the stories are made up.
Great question! According to The Moth’s website, (specifically https://www.themoth.org/mainstage) all the stories told at their Mainstage events must be true. I know the students at Marshall were asked to tell true stories.
