We had a full house for the 2014-15 WITS Writers orientation at Literary Arts! Twenty-three new and returning writers attended the Thursday afternoon session, where new writers learned about best practices, common core standards, planning a successful residency, and then got to know returning writers over a lunch catered by Pastini Pasteria. (Thanks, Pastini!) Returning writer Serena Crawford gave a great presentation about putting together effective lesson plans and student packets; Literary Arts’ Executive Director talked about our 30th Anniversary events celebrating our past, as well as our plans for a very bright future. We’re so excited to have such a talented, enthusiastic roster of WITS writers and are stoked for the hundreds of high school students who will get to work with them this year! Stay tuned for what is looking like another fantastic year at Writers in the Schools!
