We had a full house for the 2014-15 WITS Writers orientation at Literary Arts! Twenty-three new and returning writers attended the Thursday afternoon session, where new writers learned about best practices, common core standards, planning a successful residency, and then got to know returning writers over a lunch catered by Pastini Pasteria. (Thanks, Pastini!) Returning writer Serena Crawford gave a great presentation about putting together effective lesson plans and student packets; Literary Arts’ Executive Director talked about our 30th Anniversary events celebrating our past, as well as our plans for a very bright future. We’re so excited to have such a talented, enthusiastic roster of WITS writers and are stoked for the hundreds of high school students who will get to work with them this year!
