WITS College Essay Mentoring Project 2014

Our WITS College Essay Mentoring Project is underway! Thus far, we’ve had one mentor training at Literary Arts, and two mentoring sessions: one at Franklin High School and, for the first time in our five years of this project, one at Benson High School! Our trained volunteer mentors worked with 23 students at Franklin and 28 students at Benson, giving them individual attention on their college and scholarship application essays. Students worked on everything from brainstorming new essay ideas to fine-tuning grammar and punctuation on final drafts. We still have one more training session and two more mentoring sessions at Madison and Roosevelt High Schools: you can find full details by clicking here.
