Teaching at Wordstock
Literary Arts is currently accepting workshop proposals from teachers for Wordstock on November 11, 2017. Most workshops are 2 hours long and limited to 15 students. We are especially interested in receiving class proposals from writers of color, publishing professionals, Oregon Book Awards authors and Oregon Literary Fellowships recipients who teach in the genres of fiction and nonfiction.

Workshop instructors receive a stipend and free admission to Wordstock. Workshops will be scheduled on a rolling basis;proposals should be submitted no later than July 28, 2017.

To apply to teach at Wordstock, please submit the following:

1-2 page CV, including publication history
a 1 page statement of your teaching philosophy
2-3 sample course descriptions (no more than a page each)

Teaching at Literary Arts throughout the year
Literary Arts is currently accepting class proposals from teachers for the 2017-2018 year. Please note: The schedule for Fall 2017 and Winter 2018 writing classes is mostly complete. There are some remaining classes to be scheduled for Spring 2018.

Literary Arts is happy to hear from experienced teachers interested in offering multi-week or one-day writing classes for adults. Instructors should be knowledgeable about the craft of writing, have teaching experience, and some publishing credits. We are especially interested in receiving class proposals from writers of color, Oregon Book Awards authors and Oregon Literary Fellowships recipients who teach in the genres of fiction and nonfiction. Our teachers are contracted for individual classes. 

Our classes are limited in size and focused on specific writing goals.

To apply to teach at Literary Arts, please familiarize yourself with our current class offerings. Then submit the following:

  • 1-2 page CV, including publication history
  • a 1 page statement of your teaching philosophy
  • 2-3 sample course descriptions (no more than a page each)
