Into the Cosmos
by Isabella Baldisseri (Woodburn High School)
WITS writer: Nicky Nicholson-Klingerman

I was once a little girl,
Who stood under the weight of my Papa’s arm
Who slept under an inky blanket of stars.
He pointed to the dots in the sky,
I stared into the constellations
Of his eyes.
Then into the Cosmos, my dear Papa fled.

I search for you,
Through galaxies you said were mine.
Equipped with nothing—
But a spinning record of time.
