Lit Mic presents: Murder in the Bookstore II

The Literary Arts Bookstore and Cafe are thrilled to welcome Lit Mic for another immersive writing workshop! Participants will search for clues, interview witnesses, and conduct their own investigation via creative writing prompts and sharing to solve the murder.

Detective Jack Argentine is back, and this time, it’s magical. It’s nearly Halloween, and a coven of honest-to-goodness witches is hosting their Biannual Bewitchment Ball. But something has gone terribly wrong, and one of the coven members is dead! Through independent and guided writing prompts, investigation, and conversations with live witchy actors, it’s up to YOU to help Detective Argentine figure out if this is just a spell gone wrong… or a case of Halloween Homicide. But the witching hour is close at hand; if the clock strikes midnight, the witches will be gone back to their home, and this case will vanish like mist in the night. Are you up for the task?

Portland Lit Mic is a community-oriented organization, dedicated to getting writers from all backgrounds together. Founded as a writers-only open mic by Portland State Alumni Jordan Marzka and Grace Lawrence, the two have gone on to plan and host immersive writing workshops and reading series.
