BIPOC Reading Series – October

Hosted by Kyle Yoshioka and Jessica Meza-Torres, this monthly reading series is intended to prioritize the safety, creativity, and stories of Black people, Indigenous people, and People of Color.

The featured reader for October is Jenny H. Lee.

Kyle (they/he) is an apologetic Californian and 14-year resident of Portland who thinks and writes a lot about belonging. Their work and voice have appeared in various publications and podcasts. Kyle is the editorial director of Provecho, a multilingual publication exploring the intersection of food and identity.

Jenny H. Lee

Jenny H. Lee is an Oregon Literary Fellow as the recipient of the C. Hamilton Bailey Fellowship for Drama. She is also a Quarterfinalist of the Academy Nicholl Screenwriting competition. Jenny has directed several short films and enjoys teaching film classes at Movie Madness University. She holds a BFA in fine arts from Boston University and an MFA in design from the School of Visual Arts in New York.
