Oregon Book Awards Internship Opportunity

 

Literary Arts seeks an Oregon Book Awards & Fellowships intern for the four months leading up to the Oregon Book Awards ceremony. This internship offers a great way to gain experience working for a community-based literary non-profit. Applicants from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Oregon Book Awards & Fellowships intern (1 position)
January 15th – April 24th
4 hours a week (ideally one afternoon a week)
 The ideal candidate will also be able to assist at the Oregon Book Awards ceremony on Monday, April 24th, and assist at some evening events at Literary Arts between January 15th and April 18th.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: This intern will assist the Director of Programs for Writers with tasks related to the Oregon Book Awards & Fellowships programs, including, but not limited to: light copy editing, compilation of copy for event programs, some design work, blog postings, and other office tasks as assigned. In addition, this intern will also assist at some events at Literary Arts, as noted above.

QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest in learning more about the nonprofit arts sector, an appetite for administrative work functions, some office experience and basic computer skills. The ideal candidate will also have experience with Powerpoint.

COMPENSATION: We offer paid internships to students eligible for work/study; we are also happy to work with students who are able to earn credits. We also offer tickets to Literary Arts events (as available).
