Shayla Lawson is a poet, a writer and the author of several books. Her latest is called ‘This is Major.’ It’s a collection of essays on the Black American experience specifically through the eyes of a Black woman. It’s unapologetic and funny and serious and stylistically risk-taking.
Lawson spoke with OPB’s Tiffany Camhi as a part of the recent Portland Book Festival put on by Literary Arts.
