The Oregon Book Awards Author Tour Heads to Eastern Oregon

With the autumn equinox behind us, it’s officially the season of yellow leaves, shorter days, and, of course, a fresh leg of the Oregon Book Awards Author kicking off in Eastern Oregon. Every year, Literary Arts invites Oregon Book Awards winners and finalists to participate in the Oregon Book Awards Author Tour, which offers free readings, school visits, and writing workshops in public libraries, independent bookstores, and many other venues. The aims of the tour are to promote Oregon Book Awards authors in towns they might not otherwise visit and establish connections between Literary Arts and literary organizations across the state.

This fall, between October 16-18, the Oregon Book Awards Author Tour will travel through Pendleton, Enterprise, and Baker City in Eastern Oregon, bringing with it an exciting line-up of some of Oregon’s most acclaimed voices writing today, including Becky Ellis, Charlie J. Stephens, tina ontiveros, Rachel King, and Steven Moore. These authors will be giving free public readings and book signings across a range of venues, as well as inviting opportunities for conversation with local readers and writers. We are grateful to partnerships with local libraries and arts organizations for making this tour possible, including: First Draft Writers Series, Fishtrap, Baker County Library, Betty’s Books, and Crossroads Arts Center.
