25 Years of Literary Arts

From now until September 22, the Collins Gallery at the Multnomah County Library in Portland will feature Literary Arts: 25 years of Enriching Oregonians with Language and Literature. The exhibit, curated by Special Collections Librarian Jim Carmin, includes materials borrowed from Literary Arts such as original authors correspondence, books, photographs and other materials from Oregon authors and Portland Arts and Lectures speakers from the last 25 years, as well as materials and documents related to other Literary Arts programs.

Included in the exhibit is an Oregon Literary Fellowship application from John Daniel. John is a two-time Oregon Book Award winner and was awarded an Oregon Literary Fellowship in 1995. Jim Carmin has done an excellent job of capturing the rich history of Literary Arts. However, we’re partial. We work here.

There are more details about the exhibit here, including information about a panel discussion at the library on September 9th featuring Elizabeth Burnett, Julie Mancini, Ursula Le Guin, scholar Christopher Zinn, and the founder of the Oregon Book Awards, Brian Booth.
